About
ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores the push and pull of interpersonal relationships and the internal conflict of the mind against its own identity as well as the struggle against submission to one’s Spiritual Nature. I use composite digital photography and mixed media processes to express this.
Each series questions and evokes conversations about beauty and body image, the power of sexuality within the mind, the role it plays in relationship and the mind’s inner workings.
My artwork is the space I use to make sense of my child’s struggle with mental health issues, the breakdown of my marriage the purposeful practice of re-building my once silent voice. In this way, the resulting artwork is a representation of deeply personal memories, fears, anxiety and sometimes loss.
